VĚDA SCHOOL OPENS THE NEW SCHOOL SEASON AT ITS NEW ADDRESS IN PRAGUE’S VINOHRADY DISTRICT
Prague’s famous Vinohrady, the magnificent Riegrovy Gardens, a sports complex with a swimming pool, an accessible car park - all this surrounds the new address of the renowned international school VĚDA, Blanická 34.

The VĚDA educational centre in Prague includes a Czech primary school, which has been operating since 2014 and is accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education. The modern school includes a preschool department, a children’s centre and a school preparatory class. The new address is also home to the VĚDA language school, a Saturday school and a branch of a Canadian and Russian school. To find out more about the educational process in VĚDA, I contacted the founder of the Czech International School VĚDA Alena Valentinovna Pinskaja, PhD. (www.zsveda.cz).
Let’s start our conversation with the preschool department.
The Children’s Centre has two locations. In Slovenská Street (Slovenská 19, Praha 2) there is a children’s centre for children from 2 to 4 years old and in Velehradská Street (Velehradská 21, Praha 2) there is a group for children from 3 to 6 years old and there is also a preschool class.
We teach the children the Czech language in a playful way so that they can adapt to the environment in which they live, they also learn English, they love to draw and dance with a professional trainer. They are taught their mother tongue, the basics of counting, logic and construction. There is a daily schedule, sports and playgrounds.
The next stage is Czech primary school.
The accredited Czech primary school operates in accordance with the educational system of the Czech Republic. Children receive a state certificate upon completion of nine years of schooling.
They can then enter Czech state secondary schools. Our primary school students attend a preparatory course in Czech language and mathematics directly for the entrance examinations as early as grade 9.
Can students continue their studies with you after graduating from a Czech primary school?
Students can continue their studies in the Russian programme with simultaneous preparation for Czech universities in the 10th and 11th grades of our Russian Lyceum «Success» and receive a Russian certificate.
From 2023, VĚDA will be affiliated with the Canadian School in Toronto, so students can choose to study at the affiliated Canadian School in Prague (grades 9-12 of the
Canadian school system). After graduating from the Canadian school, they receive a Canadian certificate, which allows them to enter Canadian universities.
How else does the Věda language school in Prague work?
As part of the language school in Prague, which is accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education, we offer university preparation courses and, of course, language courses at various levels in English and Czech. The preparatory courses take place directly at the school in Prague and the Czech state exams, which are necessary for obtaining a residence permit (level B2) and citizenship of the Czech Republic, take place at the school. The English language preparation course for the Canadian branch classes begins.
Do you have children of different nationalities at your school?
- We have children from Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Israel, Russia, India, France... We have a multicultural environment.
The children learn about the traditions and holidays of each nationality, and there is no political climate here, and we do not discuss political issues. And this is categorically observed. Our task
is to educate the children, to help them adapt to the «new» life and to make their childhood happy and educational.
