The Czech National Bank has issued a banknote to commemorate 30 years of Czech independence
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Czech currency, the Czech National Bank (ČNB) issued a 1,000 CZK commemorative banknote featuring the logo of the 30th anniversary of the ČNB and the Czech currency in 2023. The ČNB issued a total of 200,000 new banknotes to commemorate the creation of an independent currency.

The face of the CZK 1000 banknote depicts Czech historian and politician František Palacký, known as the «Father of the Nation» for his more than forty years of public activity, his contribution to Czech history, modern Czech culture and the development of the national movement.
The graphic design of modern Czech banknotes was created by the academic artist and graphic designer Oldřich Kulhánek.
Who is who on Czech banknotes?
CZK 100 — Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Emperor of the Romans.
CZK 200 — Jan Amos Komenský, the great Czech educator, author of some of the most important ideas in classical and modern education.
CZK 500 — Božena Němcová, the most famous Czech writer, collector of fairy tales and folk tales, author of prose and poetry.
In 1996, a CZK 2000 banknote was issued with a portrait of Ema Destinnová, an outstanding Czech opera singer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
CZK 5000 — Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, first president of the Czechoslovak Republic, philosopher, sociologist, politician and statesman.
