PUBLIC TRANSPORT FARES
Timetables for Prague’s public transport, current changes and routes can be found on the website of the Prague Transport Company.
When travelling by public transport, each passenger must carry a valid, stamped ticket.
All tickets are valid for all types of public transport (metro, tram, bus, trolleybus) as well as for suburban electric trains within Prague.
Prague public transport fares for adults aged 15–60:
Ticket for 30 minutes — 30 CZK
Ticket for 90 minutes — 40 CZK
24-hour ticket — 120 CZK
72-hour ticket — 330 CZK
SMS ticket DPT31 for 30 minutes — 31 CZK*.
SMS ticket DPT42 for 90 minutes — 42 CZK*.
Ticket for the funicular to Petřín — 60 CZK **.
* Send an SMS from a Czech mobile phone to 902 06 with the text: DPT31 or DPT42.
** The trip to Petřín is free if you have a valid ticket with a validity of 1 day or more.
Passengers over the age of 65 and children under the age of 15 can travel for free on Prague’s public transport.
You must buy a pass at a metro ticket office.
You will need to bring the relevant documents with you.
Tickets (from 30 minutes to 72 hours) can be purchased at ticket offices, DP Praha information centres, kiosks, yellow machines in the metro or at public transport stops, contactless terminals in all trams and most city buses, by SMS sent from a Czech mobile phone number and via the mobile application «PID Lítačka».
Tickets or passes need to be stamped only once - at the beginning of the journey!
Travelling without a ticket is punishable by a fine of CZK 1,000, payable on the spot or within 15 days at a special ticket office in the Central Dispatch Centre building: Na Bojišti 5, Praha 2.
