ESTATES THEATRE IN PRAGUE
The building of the Estates Theatre in Prague is the oldest theatre building in the city (on the photo).
From its inauguration on 21 April 1783, the Estates Theatre was called the National Theatre of Count Nostitz.
In 1798 it was renamed the Estates Theatre of the Old Town of Prague. In 1862 it was renamed the Royal Provincial German Theatre.
In 1920, the Estates Theatre finally became part of the National Theatre and returned to its former name and Czech repertoire.
On the building of the Estates Theatre is a poster for the five-act play East of Suez (pictured), which premiered on 19 November 1923.
