ZÁKUPY
The Zákupy Castle is located in northern Bohemia, near the town of Česká Lípa.
You can get to the castle from Prague’s main railway station by train to the Dečín station, where you change to an electric train that will take you directly to the Zákupy Božíkov station.
The castle itself is a 15‑minute walk from the station.
The present exposition of the Zákupy Castle is a sample of the life of the high aristocracy in the second half of the 19th century.
In 1850–1853 the interiors of the castle were adapted to the life of the Austrian Emperor Ferdinand I, and most of them have been preserved in their original form.
There are original wallpapers, wooden chandeliers with candlesticks, cornices, mirrors, furniture with original upholstery, curtains and tiled stoves.
