Křižovnické Square with the Old Town Bridge Tower and the Gothic monument to Charles IV
A 1928 photograph shows Křižovnické Square with the Old Town Bridge Tower and the Gothic monument to Charles IV, unveiled in January 1851.
The Old Town Bridge Tower, located on the right side of the Vltava River next to Charles Bridge, is one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Europe. It was built in the 70s and 80s of the 14th century.
The famous Charles Bridge was closed to car traffic in 1965. Since then it has been used exclusively by pedestrians.
